How Logical are we? And what has Logic got to do With our Businesses?

Decision making

As human beings, we all like to think that we are logical especially when we are making decisions. We like to think that we scrutinize and evaluate the information we are given and then ultimately make logical decisions based on our evaluations. However, in reality, human beings very rarely make decisions based on logic alone. Most of the time, our decision-making processes take place without us even realizing it. Based on the fact that we are living in the age of information, there is just not enough time for us to really evaluate every single bit of information that we perceive, and then make decisions accordingly.

Mind

Although this might sound corny, but thinking is hard work. That’s why most people don’t really think. If we are to think about everything that has to be thought about all the time, then we expose ourselves to exhaustion. Apparently, we have to think about what we are going to wear, what to do for the day, at work, what we are going to do with our lives, how we are going to achieve our goals, our challenges, victories, relatives, businesses, etc. Now, that’s a lot to take in. There are so many things in life to think about. And to ponder on every single decision that we are going to make is almost impossible. Consequently, we’ve developed mental shortcuts that appear as preconceived ideas about what we believe or how we believe certain things should be.

Business

What has this got to with your business or even the art of persuasion? Ponder on these concepts. 🙂

In my new book that’s almost done, Communicate Your Way to The Bank: Master the Art of Persuasion, Positively Influence others, Increase Sales, and Stand out in Your Crowd, among other thingsI go into depth to explain how the mind works, and what triggers people to make especially buying decisions. I will be posting more tips and details about the book as the release date gets close.

Do you Feel like you are Running Around in Circles?

There are times when we all feel so overwhelmed about life–when everything we do does not yield the results that we desire. During such times, we may feel as though the devil itself has binoculars on our lives.

I have experienced periods in my life when I felt as though I was moving against the wind. Everything seemed to break down. There was conflict surrounding me. Every action took me face to face with failure. I felt as though I was locked up behind a thick high wall with nowhere to go. I felt as if I was literally running around in circles–like a dog chasing its own tail. No amount of positive thinking made things better. Regardless of how hard and deeply I thought, no new information or ideas popped up in my mind as solutions. Even when I meditated and prayed for hours, I still felt a deep sense of emptiness and sadness.

Below are some of the steps that I have taken—things that have helped me get a new grip of my life.

1. Write down your goals.

2. Perform a situation analysis of your life; the steps you’ve been taking towards achieving your goals, the skills you have employed, plans, strategies, weaknesses, strengths, opportunities and threats.

2. Evaluate your successes and failures for the last 60 days.

3. STOP. Stop and relax. Stop making any major plans, taking any major actions or even expecting anything—good or bad to happen. Become a witness of your life. Observe. I know this might sound so hard to do, but if you have been taking a lot of action and seeing no results, then there is something missing. During such times, it also implies that we are not listening to our inner voice for direction or alerts.

4. Spend some time with yourself–at least 3 hours a day especially if you work for yourself. If you are employed and have to appear at a job every day, you can still become a witness of your own life by excluding judgement of others and the entire job situation. This might also mean that you don’t talk about your concerns with anyone. You are present at the job and doing what you have to do, but mindfully absent. I hope you understand what I mean. It’s about becoming laid back for a set period of time.

When we stop and do nothing major, we reduce the noises in our minds. This is when we get to hear the voice of God that is always existent at the back of our minds.

I hope this helps.

Love and light.

EFT Session to Stop Resisting, and Just Allow Yourself to be.

Let-It-Rain-Gratitude-in-Grief-1

When we stop resisting our situations and just allow ourselves to fall into whatever seems to be the problem, the problem tends to dissolve. And the idea is not to stop resisting with an intention to dissolve the problems, it’s rather to allow whatever is bombarding you to invite the feelings that need to be activated without focusing on an outcome. This also means that we are 100% present; not in the past, or the future. We are just allowing…now…in the moment.

Here’s an EFT Session to help you get to that place of allowing.

Just tap on the meridian points as shown in the diagram below.

eft-tapping-points

 Round One:

I’m feeling it

It’s not enjoyable.

I’m prompted to resist the negative feeling

I’m tempted to find a solution

I’m tempted to keep running from these negative emotions

I’m tempted not to cry

I’m tempted to do something about this problem.

It sucks

I’m sick and tired of being sick and tired.

I can’t be still

I have to do something about this problem

This is not fun

This is not fair

I have to do something about this problem.

Round Two:

This is exhausting.

Maybe I should just be

What if I just dive into this pain?

What will really happen?

I know I won’t die.

I’m already feeling it.

So, I shouldn’t really resist it.

It’s okay and normal to be sad

It’s part of growth

I guess I’m just going to dive into this pain

I’m tired of resisting it

Here I go

I’m now allowing myself to feel it

I’m allowing myself to feel this pain

I’m allowing this pain to do what it is here to do.

I’m allowing myself to just be

I’m allowing myself to stop this resistance

I’m diving deep into this moment

Knowing that it’s okay to feel the way I feel

I’m letting go of the struggle.

It’s okay to just surrender to the process.

I’m now surrendering to the process.

In body, mind and spirit.

I hope this helps. Tap as many times as you can and very soon, you will feel free of the negative emotion by just allowing yourself to be. Remember that whatever we stop resisting remains with nothing to feed on: based on the fact that negative emotions tend to feed on our resistances.

4 Out-of-the-Box Tips to Become More Productive:

  1. Sell your TV

When you watch television continuously, you’re just watching other people get successful instead of embarking on projects that could help you achieve your dreams

2. Say goodbye to the energy vampires in your life. (The negative souls who steal your enthusiasm). Clean your environment. Weed out people who are negative and those who don’t support or understand your dreams.

3. Start your day at 5.00 am. Win the battle of the bed. Put mind over mattress. This habit alone will strengthen your willpower. By getting up early, I have been able to get a lot done in a few hours, and then take time out to do other things that nourish my wellbeing.

The 5 Don’ts of Money-affairs for Women in new Relationships:

Love, Men and Money

Money

If you want to establish elite personal standards for yourself in your relationship, the following tips will help.

  1. Don’t ask your man for petty cash. It is unattractive. For instance, asking him for any amount below $100 regardless of your financial status is cheap. In any case, you have to manage your finances to a level of self-sustenance. You should only ask a man for his financial contribution as a last resort.
  2. Do not discuss your financial-related petty problems with your man. Keep the small unpleasant details to yourself. Don’t make your man a money-tree. Don’t make it a habit to ask him for money every so often just because he is generous. Never reveal your financial details to your beau, except if you are married-PERIOD.
  3. Never give in your “cookie” easily just because the guy wants it. Take the time to evaluate his relationship with money and overall intentions…
