The Beauty in Death

Death, at least for the most part is not the most desirable event. However, in my humble opinion it is a powerful wake up call to remind us that we are here for a season and a reason. The season is unknown; and the most important reason is to awaken to ourselves…to know who we truly are…and to be that.

Easy as it sounds, awakening to oneself is one of the most difficult job I have pursued. And this is because it is not something that anyone can pursue. It is not a destination, a thing, a place or state. It just is. You just are. But let me get back to my subject of interest today; the beauty in death.

Death teaches us that we have no business holding onto our past and whatever doesn’t serve us. It reveals something else that we are all subjected to regardless of our statuses. No one is excluded from it. It is normal to all of us. Therefore, it makes sense to forgive ourselves, forgive each other, and let go of the painful past. It makes sense to treat every breathing moment, and every heartbeat as precious, sweet gifts. Death reminds us that this sweet gift, life, is not forever, and we shouldn’t take it for granted. We should celebrate life and use every moment to awaken to our infinite, timeless selves.

Regardless of whatever you are experiencing today, know that you still have a sweet gift…life. Embrace it and be grateful for it. Become a sanity warrior, a state that will help you transcend the egoistical mind and its ever changing illusions.

In my book, The Sanity Warrior: Becoming the Authority of Our Experiences, you will do just that: become the authority of your experiences.
