What to do When You Feel Uninspired

inspire

How often do you feel uninspired?

What do you do when you keep procrastinating just because you don’t feel the urge to get started on a particular project?

What can you do to inspire yourself?

There are times when I have had projects to pursue: times when I know exactly what to do, how to do it, plus have the resources needed to get started. But for some reason, I couldn’t get started because I felt so uninspired.

Most times it is because my mind is stuck on what things are supposed to be, or shouldn’t be. Other times, I’m thinking about what’s wrong and how wrong it could get. And that’s how the matrix holds each of us captive. We find ourselves knowing what to do and not doing it. It is like you are aware that fire burns but you keep playing with it. You are aware that when you don’t take action nothing will be accomplished, but you don’t take action. What kind of BS is that? lol.

The underlying reason is because we are afraid. Note that we are either hosts of progress or hostages of fear. If your fear doesn’t drive you, you are its hostage.

One of the ways to snap out of this mind block is to inspire ourselves. However, how do you inspire yourself when you don’t want to do anything? Apparently, you’ve consciously and/or subconsciously driven yourself into this emotional/mental mess. This also implies that if you feel lethargic, and you have lost the grip on how to get out. Yet, it is still up to you to get your stressed-behind out of this mess.  What do you do?

Here are a few steps to get you started on inspiring yourself.

  1. Know that it is your responsibility to feel good and inspired. Remove the blame from anything or anyone out of yourself. Get a grip of your mind and make it your hostage. Direct your mind to do what you want instead of the other way round. Talk yourself into taking full responsibility of your emotions.
  2. Remember, or find your why. Go back to the drawing board of why you want to accomplish that goal. For instance, during days when I don’t feel like writing or making videos to inspire my audience, I remember why–which is my life purpose. I know that when I inspire others through the different ways I do, this is the time I feel alive the most. Therefore, find your why.
  3. Meditate. Yes, meditate. Some people think that meditation is for monks. But I attest to the power of meditation. Meditation has helped me overcome some of the ugliest situations in my life. Meditation has rewarded me with a lot of clarity, enthusiasm and unconditional inner peace. It’s mainly through meditation that I get the ideas I write, and record about. The benefits of meditation are inexhaustible. To get started, you can check out my simple morning meditations on gratitude and divine love. The links are: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tgMpYijDTjU  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yk7JhGZOZvU I also suggest that you start your day off with meditating. It makes all the positive difference.

  4. Exercise: Once you change your physiology, your mood will change. Stand up, stretch, stand in your power pause, go for a walk, do yoga or whatever you can to get moving. This will amplify the production of your happy hormones and then get you inspired to take action.
  5. Listen to affirmations. Here are a few I’ve recorded. Links: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cHyp6f8_jp4   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SXf_l7hpFqw

Feeling Stressed Out? Three Tips to Inspire You

I recently went through an experience that left me feeling beaten and broken. I felt as if I was behind a curtain. I felt as if my true intentions weren’t understood. I felt betrayed, weak and discouraged. I felt misjudged, isolated and rejected.

Now, you will agree that such feelings can leave one in a state of emotional warfare. Yet I knew that I had to get up. I knew that I couldn’t control anyone else but myself. I had to take my power back, and determine the way I wanted to feel regardless of what anyone else thought or felt about me. I had to continue following my dreams, and focusing on my goals. I had to feel good again which is the only way that would enable me to wake up and try at this thing called life. I needed inspiration to keep going .

In this video, I share three tips that I employed to feel inspired. I hope they help you feel inspired. Please share the video with anyone you know needs some inspiration today.

Four Steps to Achieving Unconditional Self-acceptance, and Self-love:

Image

The media has programmed us to doubt, and hate our appearances to levels beyond comprehension. With all the naked and semi-naked pictures of super-slim celebrities meandering all over the internet, and magazines, it is almost impossible to practice self-acceptance.

It is absurd how advertisements have programmed us to dislike our physical appearances, and instead get us to seek validation and acceptance from air-brushed and artificial beings, paraded on the internet and print media. We’ve forgotten that beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder. And although it is imperative to maintain a healthy body weight, it is equally as important to appreciate and love ourselves unconditionally. The challenge at hand is knocking out the competition of the multi-billionaire media industry, which aggressively and robustly seeks to reprogram our minds for self-doubt. As an individual swimming in the sea of environmental negativity, it takes more than just wish-full thinking to remain positive, love and appreciate oneself regardless of physical weight, color, or height. What has worked for me, are the following four steps.

  1. Take care of yourself the best you can. Endeavor to exercise daily, eat right, and do things to make you feel good.

  1. Look at yourself in the mirror every morning and evening, and practice self-talk. It is as simple as repeating these statements:

–         I love myself unconditionally. –          I am beautiful exactly the way I am. –          I feel good about myself. –          I accept myself wholly. –          I’m unconditional love. ImageImage   ImageImageImage

  1. Surround yourself with positive-minded people who will uplift, and appreciate you for who you are.

  1. Work on developing a healthier self-esteem by identifying the good and unique things about yourself. It also means establishing what you think your estimate is, or your self-worth–in relation to your core values, achievements and aspirations. Get a dairy and keep note of the good things you realize about yourself, and the things that you do that make you feel proud.

In my book Do not Force it, Tap The Good, you will discover the detailed steps that will help you weed out any self-limiting beliefs, negative thought processes, and then assist you in developing new ways to raise your self-esteem, self-love and perpetual happiness. From Visualization to Manifestation

Image

A lot has been written about visualization, affirmations, positive thinking, etc. And I understand that when one has done any of these things and failed to manifest their desires, they stop believing. However, I’m also here to verify that visualization does work.

Firstly, you may wonna think through some of the things that promote negative experiences. With a closer examination, you will discover that it is through repetitive negative VISUALIZATION (e.g. television, internet, negative AFFIRMATIONS through self-talk or discussions, and/or negative THINKING, that our negative experiences are created.  My argument is hinged around the fact that we are able to create negative experiences using the same portals, yet fail to create positive ones.

My reasoning and experience behind the preceding reality is that we are more determined and focused on employing these portals to create negative experiences than when we opt to create positive and desirable ones.

Whatever your story is, I just want to console and remind you that if you can use your mind to create the negative, you can use it to create the positive. The mind doesn’t know the difference. Whatever you focus on is what it creates in your reality. The next time you are sad or worried, remember the intensity you employed to manifest your feelings and then employ the same mind-state to religiously visualize, get into feelings’ mood, and think about your desires with profound determination—just like you do for the negative.

The four visualization steps that I have employed to manifest my desires are as follows:

1. Get clear about what you want.

2. Establish how you will feel when you achieve your desires.

3. Create related pictures in your mind; who is involved? Where will you be? What will you do when you achieve your goals?

4. Close your eyes twice daily and get your mind to experience your desire. At first, it might feel like you are making things up. But don’t worry; just do it anyway. And before you know it, you will be a pro at it. Go through the exercise for at least 30 days.
