Are You 100% Free to Be What You Want to Be?

Freedom 6

Some philosophers have argued that we are not totally free to be who want to be. What we think is freedom is merely being free to express ourselves as predetermined by our earlier and continuous programming. Due to the fact that being free means being happy and content with wherever and whatever one is, we tend to mistake settling for what is available, for authentic contentment. We forget that if we are unaware of other realities we have nothing to compare with. As such we regard our present reality as the real deal. Furthermore, because we are deeply programmed to believe and be a certain way, we conclude that this is the best we can be or do. We settle for beliefs  and lives that are not organically our own.

self-limiting

For instance, as I child, I was told, and I believed that if a woman rode a bike they would never get married. Because riding a bike compromised being feminine. Today, I’m still struggling to learn how to ride a bike–upon discovering that getting married has nothing to do with riding a bike. 🙂
Limiting-Beliefs

That’s one of many beliefs that I was exposed to as a child, and I have had to examine, question and change my beliefs every so often in order to discover if they are regressing or progressing me.

The question is: Which of your beliefs are promoting your life?

Note that it takes more than wishful thinking to examine all our beliefs in order to originate beliefs and ways of living that are organically our own. Note that everytime someone starts questioning the general status quo, they are isolated, rejected if not killed. They are thrown out of the crowd. Think about people like, Martin Luther King, Jr, Jesus, the Christ–to mention a few.

So, if you want to create a reality that is organically your own, you have to step away from the crowds, follow your bliss and inner guidance, question everything, be open to everything, yet attached to nothing. You also have to be willing to be alone in order to find your authentic-self.  However, the benefits are inexhaustible.

7 Ways to Heal Stress – In Celebration of March 1st, Global Worry-free Day

stress

Of late, with all the negativity and confusion in our environment, it’s hard not to get overwhelmed. Between juggling work, family, and other commitments, you can become too stressed out and busy. However, we need to set time aside to unwind, or our mental and physical health can be compromised.

Learning how to manage stress takes practice, but you can, and need to.

According to an article on WebMB, below are 7 ways to make it easier.

Stress

  • Keep a positive and happy attitude by focusing on what you want, and being grateful for what you have.
  • Surround yourself with positive, happy people. Remember that we are the sum total of the people we hang out with the most.
  • Stand up for yourself in a polite way: be assertive. This means that you speak your truth clearly without being dramatic.
  • Learn and practice relaxation techniques such as deep breathing, meditation and going into nature.
  • Exercise regularly; this can include taking a walk, biking, swimming or cleaning your house.
  • On a daily basis, eat healthy by including vegetables and fruits in your diet.
  • Try to manage your time wisely. “What-to-do” lists are very effective in helping us manage our time and organizing our lives.

Remember that we are the masters of our lives. We are own rescues. We have to take full responsibility for our wellbeing.

March 1st, 7.00a.m – 7.00.p.m is Global Worry-free day…your time zone. A few things that you could do that include, but are not limited to: volunteering; taking a homeless person for a meal; buying shoes for a stranger who doesn’t have shoes; offering to clean out your church; compiling and singing an inspirational song about not worrying and posting it on your social network (Note: you don’t really have to be a singer to compile the song, or sing it.); visiting a children’s hospital; buying flowers and giving one to 10 random ladies of your choice; cleaning out your closet and donating to charity; paying for someone’s groceries…etc. The idea is to do whatever is positive to stay away from worrying. And this can be achieved by being grateful for what you have and searching for ways to give back.

Please post your pictures and stories on this feed to inspire others to do the same.

Raise your Vibration:

Metaphysically, experience reflects on one’s personal emotional frequencies or mood vibrations.

Often and again, when the prevailing circumstances are not favorable, our moods recline. This is also a direct expression of our vibrations’ energetic frequencies.  At that frequency, there is a high possibility that we do not only perceive, but also attract situations at that level.

For instance, have you ever left your house feeling angry? If you do not uplift yourself from that vibration, you might end up spending the entire day attracting, and experiencing situations that make you angrier.

As a child whenever something bad happened to me in the morning, for instance knocking my toe on a table edge or spilling water over my school uniform, my grandmother always advised me to blow my middle finger three times and affirm the words, “it is a beautiful day.” She explained that by doing this, I connected to the lucky-fate ferries that went ahead of me, and erased any negativity for that day. That was indeed a good way to raise my hopes and hence my vibration.

Also, I guess you have heard of the saying, “laughter attracts laughter.” I have walked down the street on several occasions and seen a stranger laughing uncontrollably. I didn’t even have to know what he/she was laughing at.  I just smiled along.  Evidently, a laugher’s vibration is on such a high frequency that it expands and pulls in strangers and/or others who were not part of it in the first place. This also implies that laughter is not only healthy but also spiritually magnetic.

Raising one’s vibration doesn’t really have to take much.  It is a decision that one can make and follow through by searching for, and focusing on anything outside or within him/herself that promotes an excited, happy and/or enthusiastic frame of mind.

This is what I do every morning to raise my vibration. I tap gently on my chest or collarbone area (strong meridian points) repetitively and say the following affirmations.

“Something good is about to happen to me.”

“Something amazing is on its way to me. “

“I will be calling everyone and telling them how incredible it is.”

“I will be saying to myself; oh my God, I can’t believe this.”

“Something great is on its way to me.”

“I can’t wait to see what it is going to be.”

Before I finish, I feel excited and vibrant. This technique has worked for me, and I hope you can try it out.

The FUTURE

In the past, I saved every good thing for a “future” that I always envisioned as being more colorful and appropriate for the good stuff I bought. I spent a lot on fashion and accessories, which items I packed and stored away for the “future.”

Apparently, the authentic essence of living is living in the moment with full appreciation and commitment. No one knows the specific details of what will manifest in the next second, which is the future. Remember, anytime away from the now, is the future. It is unpredictable even for the planning enthusiasts.

Moreover, none knows when he/she will die. Even those set for death sentences with specific timelines and details of when the plug will be pulled, still do not know when they will take their last breathe.

With that in mind, it is only but logical to live your today as if it were your last. This doesn’t mean that you live irresponsible; but suggests that you appreciate and absorb every moment like it were your last. It also means that you do your best in all your endeavors, love limitlessly and unconditionally, laugh like no one is watching, eat well-knowing that the food is yours – by chewing it patiently and slowly; in addition to making daily plans that you follow through with ease and flexibility.

Remember, enjoy today; enjoy the moment. Do not wait until tomorrow. Tomorrow may never come. The most important moment, is NOW.
