Celebrate Yourself – An Inspirational Holiday-season Message

Pardon my error, it is 12/24/2017 and not 12/24/2018, like I indicate in the video. I guess, I’m living fast forward. 🙂

In this audio recording, I share my take on what a holiday season and especially Christmas, could be redefined by each of us in order to create individualized experiences that do not only rekindle our spirits, but also contribute to humanity and the environment, rather than take from it continuously without considering the consequences.

Three Steps to Become Enthusiastically Focused

So, let’s assume that you’ve determined what you want, and why you want it.  You have also established that you have all the practical and mental resources you need to execute the required tasks towards achieving your goal. However for some reason, you can’t focus. You are not inspired to take action. And you keep wondering what could be wrong. In this article I share three tips to help you become enthusiastically focused.

Well, you are not abnormal. For the most part, lack of focus is all based on fear: the fear to fail…the fear of being disappointed especially if you’ve embarked on projects in the past that haven’t succeeded. So what do you do? Here we go!

  1. Go back to the drawing board and establish why you want to achieve that goal. What will you emotionally or financially benefit if you achieved your goal? What will your rewards be? Be as specific as possible. Write it down. Read your reasons, and re-write them if that’s what it will take to be clear. Don’t rush. Take your time.

WhatsYourWhy

2. Establish what you will lose if you don’t take action. Will you lose freedom, friends or status? You know the answers. Write these answers down. The idea is to be honest with yourself.

3. Determine the first step you will take towards achieving your goal. Make this step simple and easy. The simpler it is, the better it will be for you to embark on it. For instance, if your goal is to write a book, set a goal as simple as writing half a page a day, or writing for 10 minutes. Make the first step fun and easy. Do not overwhelm yourself.

First step 2

If you follow the above steps, you will get very clear about why you want to achieve that goal, and then get focused to taking action. If you write everything in a “contemplation note-book” (get one if you don’t already), focus, won’t be a problem. The idea is to remove any stress or fear that you’ve attached to your goal.

Last but not least; I once heard this saying: “God will give you food but he won’t cook it for you.” If you want something, you have to do something about it. You have to focus on it. There are no shortcuts. There is no magic. Nothing happens if nothing moves.

If you need more help with getting clear on your goals, or letting go of negative emotions that no longer serve you, I have a resource for you. Three Ways to Advance From Amatuer to Paid Speaker

Public speaking

I joined Toastmasters International in February 2013. Today, after below two years, I’m a Qualified and Professional Speaker because I get paid to speak. Considering that there are millions of amazing speakers in the world today, I’m grateful for the opportunities that I have discovered. However, in spite of the gratitude, I realize that I had, and still have to bust my comfort zone, get myself out there and fearlessly offer myself to the world. Below are three of the steps I took to advance from amateur, to paid speaker.

I. I contacted public libraries and offered a month (once a week) of free public self-empowerment lectures.

This awarded me great exposure. After giving the first lecture, I received an invitation from a nearby safe-house to offer the same lectures. And although I still wasn’t paid, I was grateful that some other organization had recognized my passion.

2. I record my speeches whenever I can, and then post them on my social platforms. The likes and following I have received over the past months inspired me to set up my face book speakers’ page. This has got me to consistently search for fresh public speaking tips to entertain and educate my followers.

3. I signed up, and posted my profile on freespeakersbureau.org. I got 3 paid speaking gigs in the first month after signing up.

One of the most important lessons that I have learned is that the more I speak publicly, the better I get. My advice to you is that regardless of whether you want to become a public speaker or not, public speaking is paramount in introducing, and selling yourself and brand to the world. Learning how to express yourself confidently, and also present your products or services professionally is key to gaining a competitive edge in today’s market.

As a life/business Coach, I’m offering a free 30 mins consultation to help you identify your self-limiting beliefs and personal threats, and how you can get out of your comfort zone and then become the authority of your craft. Remember, nothing moves, if nothing is done. Taking action is key to progress.
