Money is not the Root of all Evil: What is?

fear-of-money

It’s commonly believed that money is the root of all evil. However if you pay close attention to the people who believe that money is the source of all evil you will quickly discover that they have a bad relationship with money: aka, “broke as hell.”

I plead guilty of having this mindset. At one point when I was extremely broke I came to a delusional conclusion that if money were a person, he/she must be extremely mad at me. I thought that money discriminated people. Besides, my high school Champlain had programmed me to believe that money is evil, and those who love it are greedy “mother-funnels” who won’t go to heaven when they die. Yet I wanted to go to heaven, so I resented money. But tell you what? Experience has taught me that living a comfortable life is being in heaven here on earth.

So, what then is the root of all evil? In my opinion it is fear. It is fear that inspires jealousy—because one is afraid that there isn’t enough goodness to go around. So this fear triggers jealousy. If one focuses on this jealousy for an extended period of time envy is eventually manufactured. If you’ve ever dealt with an envious person you know how toxic and dangerous they can be. These people are the advocates of witchcraft, gossip, backstabbing others, and crime—to mention but a few.

“Surrounded by the flames of jealousy, the jealous one winds up, like the scorpion, turning the poisoned sting against himself.” – Friedrich Nietzsche, Thus Spoke Zarathustra

Fear is what inspires a woman to throw her kid in the trash because she is afraid that she won’t be able to take care of it, or herself.

Fear can inspire a parent to disregard or abuse their child because he/she is afraid that the child might grow up to be better than them. Strange, right? Tell me about fear!!

Fear can inspire a woman to mistreat her step-kids because she is so afraid of dealing with her own insecurities. So, this triggers anger that she passes on to the innocent step-kids, in form of rage or abuse.

Fear is what promotes cut-throat competitions where people do everything they can to step on each other’s toes, damage repetitions, wrongfully accuse others, and do whatever else they can to block one from succeeding.

Fear is what promotes addictions, because the user is so afraid of dealing with the torment in their mind and/or their experience in general. Consequently, they escape their reality because they are afraid that they don’t have what it takes to deal with it—at least for the most part.

Fear is what promotes wars. Societies and countries engage in life-time wars because they are afraid of losing their power to whomever they believe is their enemy.

Fear is the foundation of stress, anxiety and all other emotional draining states, because one is either afraid of the future repeating itself or they are afraid that the future will be worse than the present.

Fear promotes lies, deceit, low self-esteem, lack of confidence, short term gratification—plus other related self-degrading mental states, because one is afraid that they are not good enough.

Fear limits or retards self-expression because one is afraid of being judged.

Note that fear is primarily intended to warn us of the possible dangers in our environments—and then we get to choose between fleeing or fighting. And once an action is chosen, there’s no need to continue producing the fear-manufacturing hormones.

As a therapist, I often ask my clients to create visual representations of their fears. It is very interesting to see that each of them has unique images of their fears—even in situations where two people are afraid of the same thing. Therefore, it is evident the fear is a self-created state, triggered by the associations, definitions, relationships, attachments and perceptions that we assign to the events in our lives. Without associations, definitions, relationships, attachments and perceptions, fear is limited. Nothing is interpreted. Everything just is. Therefore, in order to release our fears we have to start by learning how to detach or resist defining events, things or situations.

Although without benefits, fear indeed is the root of all evil. The questions then are; what are your fears? What inner and outer negative behaviors have been triggered by these fears? What are you doing about your fears? How do you plan to let them go?

Send me an email if you need help with this.

Sending you abundant love from my heart to yours.

Become Positively Selfish

Image

Often, we all focus too much on other people’s needs, problems, progress, etc, yet forget our own issues that could need urgent consideration. We then find ourselves so stressed out about other people’s issues, and ironically, ours.

There are times when we’ve got to become positively selfish; meaning that we give ourselves guilty-free permission to focus on ourselves.

Image

In the preceding process, we need to examine our physical, emotional and spiritual beings in order to establish where we need to stretch and heal; or how we can change and grow. Once we are done examining these areas of our lives, we then discover that we actually don’t have a lot of time dealing with other people’s businesses. Also, considering that the better we become, the more attractive we become to ourselves and to the outside world, it is imperative to take time out for ourselves.

 Image

So, how do you become positively selfish?

  1. Establish how you can improve your physical, emotional and spiritual states.
  2. Start out by exercising for at least 20 minutes a day. Remember that exercising releases endorphins that reduce stress.Image
  3. Come up with a simple daily to-do list that indicates the things that you will do to improve or elevate your emotional and spiritual statesImage
  4. Spend at least 10 minutes a day, less of interruptions such as TV, cell phones, and think about the things that you WANT to happen in your life.
  5. ImageRead an empowerment or self-help book for at least 15 minutes every night before you go to sleep. Try Do Not Force It, Tap The Good: an inspirational philosophical book that shares lessons the whole world can live by. Image

You can take charge of your life my friend by focusing on yourself. Remember that we all deserve to be on top of our game.

The Art of Self-Mastery:

Image

As often indicated, nothing is impossible to the mind of man; for the conscious mind controls the subconscious mind, and the subconscious mind is all powerful.  Therefore, every condition, circumstance, and manifestation of our lives can be changed to suite our conscious desires. Meanwhile, there are two commandments that will help us achieve this goal: Firstly, know that fear is the enemy; and secondly, understand the mind-lock. For fear causes the lock, and the lock exists in the subconscious mind in the form of prompters (negative emotions,) placed there by the conscious mind.

Image

I challenge you to begin eradicating from your mind all notion of yourself that has to do with where you live, where you were born, what you have done, and what your circumstances have been. I encourage you to concentrate on only one thing; and that is the spirit within you.

Image

As indicated by US Anderson, a renowned philosopher of the 60s, this real you, this conscious hidden intelligence that exists behind your eyes, is timeless, formless, and built from all the glory and magnificence that ever was. And this intelligence is your spirit. This spirit has nothing to do with your name, job or home…it has nothing to do with circumstance or situation. The plain fact is that you exist.  Just dwell on that, and nothing more. This means that you focus on the now; identify the good in the now; strive to feel good now; develop and hold onto your intentions now; think about the now, not yesterday, not tomorrow…but now. Breathe, and pay attention to your breath.  Then you will discover that all you really need to live is life.

Image

I encourage and challenge you to give yourself sometime in the upcoming days to master your mind.

Ask yourself the following questions:

  1. What are my biggest fears?
  2. Are they based on factual truths?
  3. If this fear didn’t exist in my mind, how would I feel?
  4. What would I want to feel instead of this fear?

Get a journal and go through the above exercise every day for the next 9 days. At the end of these days, you will discover that you were not really afraid. You just felt fearful. Because indeed, being afraid is very different from feeling afraid. The former attitude brands you into fear itself, and the later, separates you from fear—which empowers you to knock it out of your system.

In my book Do not Force it, Tap The Good, you will learn techniques and tools that have been used by our very ancestors to re-connect to their spirits. You will learn the power of faith, the power in the now, and the power of self-unconditional love. Three Ways to raise your Attraction-Vibration

It has been said that everything begins from within us. And it does; because indeed the image we see in the mirror will never change until we change it. When we change our internal worlds, we change our external experiences.

Image

Moreover to attract whatever we want, we’ve got to raise our energetic vibrations. When one feels good, they position themselves to manifest their heart’s desires.  However, how the heck can you feel good when your world is crumbling? Well, it is important to remember that we have choices. We can choose to feel good, or at the very least pretend to feel good—faking it, until we become it.

Below are the three things you can do to raise your vibration

  1. Make a list of 10 good things about you. Then stand in the mirror everyday and repeat these things to yourself. It is also fun to add something new to the list every day.

Image

2. Make it a habit to do something to feel good on a daily basis. It could be as simple as taking a nap in the afternoon; or eating an ice     cream (not too much though J), or taking a walk; or watching a comedy movie.

Image

3. Imagine a candle burning in your heart all day. This works miracles on your psychic. Stretch this exercise further by imagining that  the candle blows out every time you worry or stress. You could also make it more fun by placing a dollar in some place every time the  candle in your heart blows out…also implying that you spend a dollar for every worrying-moment. At the end of each week, take all the  money you’ve collected and give it to someone, anyone. The less you worry or stress, the less money you will give away.

Image

If you can do these exercises on a daily basis for at least a week, your experiences will change to new and better ways that you’ve probably never imagined. Please post on my blog and let me know how you feel after the exercises.
